An idyllic country hotel on the edge of Dartmouth National Park
My partner and I were looking for a quiet hotel with good food and a relaxed style supported by friendly but attentive staff. We got this in bucket loads!
85 today!
Stayed for 2 nights at this comfortable, welcoming and relaxing country house hotel beside the River Teign in the heart of Dartmoor. This was an excellent choice to quietly celebrate my 85th birthday. The staff were lovely and made us feel both at home and special. We are not too far away so we hope to be back again when the batteries need recharging,

Wonderful Stay
Stayed at the Mill End over the August Bank Holiday and my Birthday.
Had not been there for several years and was delighted to see the improvements that had been made since the new owners took over.
Food was excellent.
Will return
Not Considerate
I rang ourselves and the hotel a week before our booking asking if we could postpone our visit and revise a voucher for a future date, due to my husband's health which had deteriorated over the previous couple of weeks. He is now due to have two operations on his spine to help relieve the pain he is in.
However, the hotel said no we were outside the period of cancellation. On the day we were due to travel we emailed to say we would not be taking up the booking due to the fact my husband was in considerable pain, and asked again whether they would give us a voucher for another date. Again the answer was NO
As we were not asking for a refund but a voucher for a future date I feel the hotel could have been a little more accommodating.
Lovely hotel and staff
It was a wonderful hotel in a great location with great service. Food was fantastic catering really well for dietary requirements.
Lovely position and excellent food
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant really was excellent. It is easy to go off on many walks from the hotel particularly along the River Teign. The hotel is far enough but not too far from the A30.
We would definitely look at staying at the hotel in the future.
Great staff, food and very dog friendly
Lovely venue, roomy car park.Friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. The most dog friendly hotel I ve stayed in. The only problem was the access into the shower, one had to climb into a raised bath on a stool. The bath was quite slippery, not a good combination!
Lovely Hotel in Dartmoor
Nestled in Dartmoor, this lovely hotel makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Our Suite was perfect. Restaurant and food were amazing, as was the staff. Lots to do in the surrounding area, walks, attractions and the like or just chill out in front of the large fire in the lounge. Definitely recommend.
